Step into Hudson River Park’s iconic and evolving Meatpacking District riverfront by visiting any of these exciting destinations.

Opening in 2022, the national historic landmark, Pier 57, will be transformed into a mixed-use pier with a rooftop park and an interior public “living room” as well as a public marketplace, music venue, office space and state-of-the-art classroom with gallery. Gansevoort Peninsula, which features the last remaining block of 13th Avenue, is currently under construction, slated to open in summer 2023.

Piers & Places

Gansevoort Peninsula

Opened in 2023, Gansevoort Peninsula is the largest stand-alone recreational space in Hudson River Park. Providing 5.5 acres with a sandy shoreline beach, ballfield, pine grove, boardwalks, adult fitness equipment, and a salt marsh. Plus, the last remaining block of 13th Avenue!

Little Island

Located just south of 14th Street in Hudson River Park, Little Island is conceived and built in partnership with the Diller-Von Furstenberg Family Foundation and Hudson River Park Trust.

14th Street Park

This Meatpacking District hideaway, east of the roadway, has an elegant oval of grass as its grand feature, surrounded by tables and chairs, and is tucked behind a playful fence.

Pier 51

Beloved by families, the Pier 51 playground offers imaginative play with a nautical theme. Children especially love the expansive water and sand play areas.

Day’s End

As one of the largest public art installations in New York City, Day’s End is publicly accessible and offers an extraordinary place to experience the waterfront. 

14th Street Park Community Compost Drop Off

Deposit your food scraps in the brown bins at the following sites from 7 AM – 7 PM daily.

14th Street Park Lawn

A hot spot for lunching and soaking up some sun, this little gem shares a corner with the vibrant Chelsea Market. Bring a chair or a blanket.

City Winery

At Pier 57 in the Meatpacking District: City Winery brings delicious local wines and stunning views from their spacious indoor dining room and waterfront outdoor patio.
